The Journal of Advanced Pediatrics and Child Health (JAPCH) operates under the Open Access model, ensuring that all published articles are freely accessible worldwide. To sustain this model, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is required after manuscript acceptance.

1. Purpose of APCs

APCs enable JAPCH to cover expenses associated with editorial handling, peer review management, online hosting, DOI assignment, XML metadata, archiving, and indexing. This ensures every article remains freely accessible without subscription barriers.

3. When to Pay

Authors are required to pay the APC only after their manuscript has successfully passed peer review and received an official acceptance notification. No fees are charged during submission or review.

5. Discounts and Waivers

To support equitable access to publishing, JAPCH provides partial or full APC waivers to:

  • Early-career researchers and students
  • Authors from low-income and lower-middle-income countries (World Bank Classification)
  • Editorial board members, reviewers, and invited authors

Authors can apply for waivers during submission by selecting “APC Waiver Request” in the online form and providing justification or institutional proof.

6. Inclusions within APC

The APC covers all publishing-related activities, including:

  • Editorial and administrative support
  • Peer review management
  • Plagiarism screening and quality checks
  • Professional copyediting and formatting
  • DOI registration and metadata submission to Crossref
  • Permanent archiving in CLOCKSS/LOCKSS and PKP PN

7. APC Transparency

JAPCH ensures full cost transparency in accordance with DOAJ Best Practice Guidelines. No hidden or retrospective fees are charged at any stage of publication.

8. Funding Support

Authors may use research grants, institutional funds, or funding agency support to cover APCs. JAPCH complies with Plan S and open-access funding mandates from organizations such as NIH, ERC, and Wellcome Trust.

9. Refund Policy

APCs are generally non-refundable once publication begins. Exceptions are detailed in the Refund Policy.

10. Invoice and Receipts

Upon manuscript acceptance, an official invoice will be sent to the corresponding author. Receipts are issued within three business days of payment confirmation.
