Preparing High-Quality Submissions for Pediatric Research
The Journal of Advanced Pediatrics and Child Health (JAPCH) invites authors to follow the structured guidelines below to ensure smooth submission, ethical compliance, and efficient peer review.

1. Manuscript Categories

JAPCH publishes a variety of article types, including:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles
  • Case Reports
  • Short Communications
  • Editorials, Commentaries, and Letters to the Editor

2. Language and Formatting

All submissions must be written in clear, concise English. Authors are encouraged to use professional language-editing services if necessary. Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) using the following format:

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • Line Spacing: 1.5
  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides
  • Page Numbers: Bottom-right corner

3. Manuscript Structure

For most article types, manuscripts should follow the IMRaD format:

  • Title Page: Title, author names, affiliations, ORCID IDs, corresponding author details.
  • Abstract: 200–300 words, structured into Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
  • Keywords: 4–6 relevant terms for indexing.
  • Introduction: Brief background and study rationale.
  • Materials and Methods: Detailed methodology ensuring reproducibility.
  • Results: Clear, concise presentation of findings.
  • Discussion: Interpretation, comparison with prior studies, and implications.
  • Conclusion: Final remarks highlighting study significance.
  • References: As per Vancouver style.

4. Figures, Tables, and Illustrations

Figures must be submitted in high-resolution (minimum 300 dpi) JPEG, PNG, or TIFF formats. Each table and figure should have a clear title and legend. All visuals must be cited sequentially in the text.

5. Reference Style (Vancouver)

References must be numbered consecutively in the order cited in the text and listed at the end of the manuscript. Examples:

  • Journal Article: Smith AB, Jones CD. Pediatric growth trends in urban populations. J Pediatr Health. 2024;18(3):201–210.
  • Book: Brown K. Child Health and Nutrition. 3rd ed. Springer; 2023.

6. Ethical Considerations

Authors must confirm compliance with ethical standards for human and animal studies. Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee approval must be cited in the Methods section. The study must adhere to the Declaration of Helsinki.

7. Conflict of Interest and Funding Disclosure

All authors must disclose financial or personal relationships that could influence the submitted work. Funding sources must be explicitly acknowledged.

8. Authorship and Contributions

Authorship should reflect significant intellectual contribution. Authors must meet the ICMJE authorship criteria. A “Contributions” section may be included to specify each author’s role.

9. Plagiarism and Originality

All manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening using iThenticate. Manuscripts with similarity indices exceeding 10% (excluding references) are returned for revision or rejected.

10. Supplementary Data

Supplementary files (datasets, multimedia, questionnaires, or appendices) may be submitted and will be linked to the published article via DOI.

11. Clinical Trials

Clinical studies must include a trial registration number (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov or WHO Registry). Reports should adhere to the CONSORT guidelines.

12. Abbreviations and Units

All abbreviations should be defined at first mention. Use SI units consistently throughout the manuscript.

13. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the online portal: Submit Manuscript. Authors are required to create an account and complete the checklist before uploading their files.
